During the procedure, the patient assumes a comfortable position—either sitting or lying down—while the doctor adjusts the tomograph for optimal scanning. The patient’s head remains still as the device takes a series of rotating X-ray images. The entire process usually takes only a few minutes.
The acquired data are processed by a computer to create a detailed 3D image of the teeth, jaw, and surrounding structures. This enables the doctor to assess the condition of the teeth, root canals, bone tissue, and bite with maximum accuracy.
